Access free online health and wellbeing program RSL:Be Well
Combining the latest veteran-centric health and wellbeing research into free, self-directed online learning modules, RSL Be:Well offers veterans a clear, simple way to better their health and wellbeing. It can sometimes be difficult to find health and wellbeing resources that consider the unique challenges veterans face, that’s why RSL ACT is making the free program available to veterans in the ACT, so you can access it anywhere, any time.
The self-paced online learning program – developed by RSL Queensland in partnership with Gallipoli Medical Research – is designed specifically for veterans. The program provides simple, evidence-informed tips and resources to help you tackle common challenges that veterans face, and feel better physically, mentally and emotionally. Each 20-minute module is self-directed – letting you decide what to learn and set your own pace – and filled with interactive tools, practical tips and recommended resources. Additional topics will be available regularly.
RSL Be:Well currently features a range of veteran-centric topics, including:
Be:Food Positive Find out how food impacts your mind and body, good nutritional ‘rules’ to follow, and how to make small changes for positive results
Be:Exercise Inspired Explore personal barriers and motivators to exercise and discover simple, practical and sustainable ways to stay active
Be:Across Anxiety Learn about and understand anxiety, different responses to it, and how to take steps towards addressing it
Be:Habit Aware Discover how habits differ from addictions, when habits become harmful, what drives harmful habits, and where to find support
Be:Self Controlled Understand recurring anger-related emotions and useful strategies to help you manage them
Be:Set for Work Learn effective ways to find meaningful civilian employment, including identifying your values and translating your Defence skills
Be:Sleep Savvy Understand the causes and symptoms of common sleep problems in veterans, and helpful treatment options
Be:Mood Wise Gain valuable insights into tough emotions (the “sad, mad and scared”) and effective ways to manage them
Be:Pain Mindful Understand and manage chronic pain to improve your function and quality of life.
